The Duntov team logged its first of four 2015 trips to the West Coast with a two car effort at Willow Springs. It was a bit of a culture shock, but the weather was perfect (naturally), the people were friendly and the racing was good.

This was a bit of a hybrid event, as it was sanctioned by both VARA and SVRA. The rules were apparently all VARA, as the cars were quite different from those running in the East. For one thing, almost every production based car was on radial tires. A Chevy engined Austin Healey? Bring it on! Factory Five Cobra Kit cars with Brembo Brakes? No problem! We felt like we were running Showroom Stock!

Both cars ran well, but Willow Springs was a new track for all the Duntov drivers and it took a while to get it together.

Tony and Edward won the Big Bore class in Saturday’s enduro, but neither car ran on Sunday, as both car owners had business commitments and couldn’t stay. It was a long drive for two days on track! We were there just long enough to learn what to bring next year.
